Help Needed - Thieving B******
Here's the story - I agreed to purchase an item on a discussion forum, and sent payment via a 'third party payment' via Natwest. Now, since the transaction completed, I've been fobbed off day after day, and I am now convinced that I will never receive the item, nor my money back from the seller, despite several requests for an explanation. I've given the seller and ultimatum today, and have given him until midday to either respond to me, or I've said I will take steps to try and get the money back.
I have all e-mail correspondence saved, including a screenshot he sent me of his bank account while awaiting payment, images of the item (which I've now found to be taken back in 2004, and not when the seller stated), web page printouts where the item was put up for sale, etc.
Do I start with calling Natwest and explaining the situation? Is there a chance of them reversing the payment considering the evidence I have against the seller? If that fails, what else can be done in an effort to regain lost funds?
I am very wary of internet sellers, but, this seller did seem extremely genuine throughout the first few days, until the payment cleared within his account. Clearly I will not be making a similar mistake again.

Can the bank do anything though? Even with all my evidence, no doubt they'll have policies in place that will end up protecting these people.
Really not impressed at the moment.

Third party payment ? if you mean escrow, then the monies shouldn't have been passed on until you were happy with the goods. You need to approach the middle man here.

Several things like this have happened to my friends and other forum users.....sounds a bit extreme but by posting up his address some of the forum users must live somewhere near.
A guy was done over for a few hundred quid and when he posted this on the forum it only took a few days of knocks on the door by different people and people driving passed his house for him to cough up.
There were never any threats merely making him aware of their friends disappointment.

Believe it or not, the seller has been in touch with me today, after midday mind you, but he was lucky it's a nice day outside so I was tied up in the garden and didn't get the chance to call Natwest regarding the problem.
He came back with a Royal Mail 'Track & Trace' reference number for me, claiming that the item has been sent today, much to my surprise. Let's see what turns up tomorrow, but following a gloomy few days, it looks as if it's back on track.
