Default Numpty - E-Bay & Paypal screw up - HELP!!

What have I done!!? Bloody numpty!

Sold some stuff on e-bay, sent the invoices, and realised after the event that the invoices have my WORK e-mail address for Paypal.

I am only set-up for Paypal on my Hotmail account.

I get an e-mail sent to my WORK inbox today, from a customer stating they have paid.

Where has the cash gone? Am I royally fooked or will they get a message from Paypal saying transaction failed (Then I can contact him and give the right e-mail address).

Any help appreciated

John

I think he has to cancel it.

Unless he cancels it paypal will hold it until its collected by you. I had the same thing happen to me, in the end I setup another paypal account for the other email address.

Why do that when one PayPal account will hold several of your registered email addresses?

JPL-Why don't you just add your works email to your PayPal account?

Can I do that? Is it just a link to the same Paypal account? If I add it now will the buyer still have to re-send the transaction or does Paypal keep on trying until the acount is set up or the buyer cancels it?

Cheers,
John

Not sure whether it will except it after the event but I can't actually see why not. It has to be worth a try.

You will need access to your works email from where you are now because PayPal will send you an email asking you to confirm the additional email address.

Go into your PayPal PROFILE then select email under ACCOUNT INFORMATION and then just follow the steps.

You can register your work address at paypal as a secondary email. The money will then move to your paypal account

Just had someone do the same to me (but I am buyer). Did a cancel, and it apparently wont come back into my bank account for 7-9days. He wants me to pay by card as they have a PDQ - I'll wait till I have the first lot back I think...

You can add your work email after the payment has been sent - once you do it the money will go straight into your paypal account - a lot easier than waiting for the buyer to resend it !

Yes, it worked. Added the work e-mail addresses last night, verified them at work this morning and the money has gone into my account.

Sorted. Thanks again for all the wise tips.
