"Dixie" Air Horns
Whats your view now that the Dukes of Hazzard are back ??
Sad, Chav, or a giggle ???
They make me smile if I hear them but it may be a childhood memory thing.
Ps Before anyone says I know it is illegal to fit them on modern cars but I have a 1967 Hillman Hunter GLS (Black vinyl roof) in the garage which I bought off PSLewis (of course not modified ) that I could put them on - Honest !!!

I think they were funny but its probably due to the fact when I was a kid watching Dukes of Hazard all those years ago, it would have been the first thing I would have put on a car. Mind you I do remember someone having an Escort van , with wide wheels and biggar rear wheels (remember those), with the horns and thought how cool was that. I bet they make an apperance again, but it will probably be on some chav cavalier

those horns should be banned just cause some wee d*ck around here has one and never stops blowing it
My m8 used to have one that went WWWEEEEEEEEEEEEEE and sounded like a pig, had a hidden switch to set it off so when he got pulled for blowing it at a passing police car he cot off with it because they couldnt find it and when they asked him so demonstrate his horn he pressed the normal horn and it went beep....lol
I suppose as the other guy said, if it was on the right car and not blown every 2 seconds it might be ok, but I think its a bit nedish (thats what we call chavs up here...Neds)

As you say though bet they do make a re-appearance with the film out now - I will wait to hear my 1st one and then smile to myself (as long as its not over & over again as the other guy says !!! )
Wish I had a replica General Lee though !!!

they are perfectly legal on cars registered before 1977 if i recall, along with silver nad black number plates..
i had both!!!!
if you caught the start point of the cycle it sounded just like a police two tone if you gave a quick tap on the horn

Two idiots went past me yesterday with a wolf whistle horn repeating itself - weird.
My mum used to have a Dixie horn on her Diahatsu Sporttrak about 20 years ago
For info boys (although you may have already seen this) Make Daisy Duke Dance:
