Unhappy Mo Mowlam

Mo Mowlam has died age 55, she was seriously ill from the beginning of this month. In the 90's she had suffered from a brain tumour.

Was one of the good ones. Stood by her beliefs and was not in it for herself.

I am very sorry to hear of her death.

She was one of the two NL politicians whom I really respected. She was totally honest and was prepared to stand up for her principles.

One of those people you describe as 'normal' and mean it as such a huge compliment.

got to disagree with you all. In her time in northern ireland she did nothing positive in my view, other than pander to the demands of republicans. One of my friends worked in the close protection team that looked after her while she was here, they told me things about her that would not get reported in the media. Not the nice person that her public persona tried to portray.....

Bought scooby in June still smiling!
Not trying to depreess you folks or detract from Mo just trying to say take those chill pills and enjoy the drive ( pun intended ) we only come this way once!

Just trying to make point about losing it at a relatively young age like Mo and Robin Cook - is perhaps an oppourtunity for all of us to take stock when we complain about our lot - not fishing for sympathy or sulking its for me to deal with , hey I am still in there Pitching! - just trying to put a different slant on a very sad event

Sorry to hear what you have went through MarkV, but like in a post above, not sulking just paying respects, I know myself what it's like to lose someone, I'm 21 and lost my Dad 2 years ago at the age of 55 to cancer, and now I don't sulk, puts everything in to perspective for me I think, everyone deals with things in a diff way, but this is just paying a bit of respect for someone, some ppl may disagree with things that a person has done, but at the end of the day no matter what they do in life, wether they are a politician or a family member they still deserve condolences, they are human after all. Hope all goes well with you.

I don't doubt that she did her best, but I'm not convinced that her (NI) efforts were positive. Capitualtion might be a better description of the deal she helped to broker.

Not that anyone else might have done a better job, but I don't think she necessarily deserves the bouquets of red-eyed compliments. That said, for anyone to die at such a young age seems unfair at the very least.

MarkV - keep on fighting!
