RAC Trackstar Safe Speed.
Anyone got this add on in their car. If so is it any good and how is it fitted or does it just have to be activated.

yeah it works well enough. If you have the Trackstar tracker fitted I think it just needs to be activated.
You get 3 beeps about 200m before a camera, then 5 at about 100m and if you are exceeding the limit it carries on beeping.

Just an observation, but if a third part (RAC) is tracking and monitoring the speed of your car to allow their system to automatically give you warnings of speed cameras, could the Police ask to see evidence held of your cars speed in the event of a allegation from them about you speeding in your car.
Could they legally demand to see the speed data held (if its recorded) by the RAC and use it as evidence in securing a conviction?
That would be the icing on the cake.
You pay for a system that can supply the Police with the evidence to prosecute you!!!
It may not record the info, but the tracking unit does record the time your vehicle was last seen by the satellite.

The way it works is that the database of camera sites in the car has the speed limit for each site so if you are going over that speed it beeps. It doesn't constantly send your location and spped to the RAC unless you have reported it stolen.
and yes it is £6 per month.
