Where to go in Wales?
I fancy going to Wales this friday for a visit but I'm not sure where to go.
If I can't think of anywhere to go I'll just settle for Cardiff.
I'll be traveling from Birmingham so I dont fancy 3 hours of slow moving traffic.

Brecon area is nice at this time of year, lots of lakes/mountains and great scenery. Dunno if your into Jazz but there's also a big Jazz festival on in Brecon this weekend too.

Don't expect to find a curry house in cardiff though, me and the boss spent over two hours looking for one last time we were there, found one in the end, with lots of pub stops on the way of course hehe

Come to Cardiff. Plenty to see and do. Loads of places to eat and drink.
Mid Wales lovely as well around Brecon area. If you like scenery try just North of llanidloes around the lakes at Bwlch Y Gle dam.

I'm planning the same type of thing - going across to the Dams - on to Aberystwyth, then probably up the coast, across to Shrewsbury/Craven Arms area, then home
Can't wait!!!

For coast, aim for Tenby area then travel upto St Davids, many stunning beaches along the drive, good 3-4 hours to get there though.

Well, I went yesterday. Went to Elan Valley dams as the first stop-off. Took wifey's Mondeo rather than the Scoob, as I didn't want the dogs to get it too dirty. Did all the dams and then took the mountain road to Aberystwyth. Stopped on the sea front and quickly walked the kids and dogs.
Went up the coast to Borth. And spent the afternoon sunbathing, eating ice-creams and then paddling in the (very warm, I might add) sea.
Had a really good day - weather was great, and the travel was good too. Helped out by Sat Nav
Higly recommended, but warning - take some food and drink, as there's not much around there.
