So at long last maybe it'll be a case of if you want to come and live here you adopt our values and culture. This can only be a good thing IMO, but cant help thinking it may be a bit late!...

It would be if they were in power instead of the Politically Correct appeasers who have allowed things to slip out of control. The current situation is the direct result of weak and inept government.

No doubt David Davis will as always be branded as 'racsist' by the human rights nutters for simply raising the subject.

We'd need more lawn, bottles, and camera's if they did though.

But what are your values and culture? Are they allowed to maintain any of there beliefs? If so how many? What kind? Will it have to be in private?
Just interested in your views.

I agree its difficult to define, but its things like- you want to live here for good then you can learn our language, if Christmas lights offend you then thats too bad - we wont back down and remove them. If your religious dress conflicts with the school uniform, then you can either wear the uniform or find another school. You get the idea.

Re multiclturism.

I am happy for people to come to the UK as long as they can contribute (not just financially) and intergrate. By that i mean learn the language, abide by the laws and accept the UK as their home. I accept that others can have they beliefs/religion but not to the detrement of the UKs laws and beliefs.

Otherwise just go elsewhere.

I was reading yesterday that race related crime was up.
Figures for 1997 where 13,700 (approx.)
for 2004 the figures are 57,000 - this obviously excludes the 2005 bombings.

Yes this period is since Labour came to power but they are the figures i read.

IMHO down th the lack of intergration and the lax immigration system breeding dislike and fear in the existing population. Thanks Labour!

Figures courtesy of The Independant - read it whilst at the gym!

I find it bemusing that the government's attempts at promoting and embracing multiculturalism actually created a bigger divide - as indigenous cultures and ways of life where shunned and even actively abolished in favour of "other" cultures, under the poorly thought out banner of "equality"...far from it! It just creates cause for racism. Combine that with immigration and asylum policies, where by leachers and morally deficient people who will give absolutely no benefit to society financially, socially, or our recently "embraced" cultures. Only providing fuel to create hate and increased separation between cultures.
