Default Oh Dear, a Brush with the LAW!!

Me!! Of all upstanding citizens!!

Me!! The one who owns a fast car yet doesn't speed!!

Me!! OAP of the Year!!

Anyway, the crime in North Wales must have been in particularly short supply last week ...... no raping of sheep or incest, for a while at least!!

A Police Officer, whilst on the hunt for a Crab Pot thief - no doubt - approached my car and asked if I had air horns!!??

Well, they are thick aren't they (coppas!) as I have two damned big blue air horns peeping out from behind my front numberplate (having been there for 5 1/2 years!)

Yes, I said ......

They are single tone aren't they Sir??? ......

Well, yes, and a loud beep proved the point

What a foookin JobsWorth!! I mean, airhorns!! He would have been beside himself with joy had they been musical!!!

Imagine that crime story down the local that night!!! Yakkie dahh!!

So, if you are reading this - well done!!

Pete

So from what Pete is saying two tone air horns are illegal ???

Someone should tell that **** in the Benjy's sandwich van that comes into our car park every morning who thinks he's in the General Lee, over inflated prices for stale sandwiches and a bloody annoying horn

According to the highway code, horns should only be used in an emergency. You sir are a menace to society.

Highway Code - Section 92 -

92: The horn. Use only while your vehicle is moving and you need to warn other road users of your presence. Never sound your horn aggressively. You MUST NOT use your horn

- while stationary on the road
- when driving in a built up area between the hours of 11.30 pm and 7.00 am
except when another vehicle poses a danger.

Erm, I'm sure this isnt 100% accurate Pete
Besides, I'd thought you'd be more aware about making needless noise, especially with what you had to put up with a few weeks back.
Goddamn noisy OAPs!

You're in Brunstrom country up there. You have to expect this kind of thing as they work to a points tally system to meet conviction targets.

Honestly airhorns on an Impreza, whatever next! Another nail in the coffin of the classic shape Impreza when people start fitting chav style accessories like these. What's wrong with the standard electric horn, mine works fine and I use it so infrequently that there is absolutely no need to upgrade it. I thought better of you Lewis with your often voiced anti-modification opinons.

I fitted airhorns to my first car, an '83 1.6GL Cavalier, I was young and foolish then, I've grown up now

Only those with Gold Wheels would be happy with the poxy, poncie, limp wristed, pathetic Standard Horn!!

And they aren't musical and they aren't two-tone ....... I would never do anything illegal!

You should have refused to sound the horn citing the bits of legislation regarding their proper use, and insisted that the copper drive towards you on the wrong side of the road in order to make your use of them valid.

If anything further comes of it, just state that your beleived it was an entrapment operation trying to make you sound a horn otherwise than in compliance with the law.

It seems like they have plenty of time to waste anyway.
