Question Commuting from Brighton to London

AS above I will shortly be moving back to the UK and living in Brighton. Now I'll be working in the City (Bishopsgate) and would like to know the best route. I can go I think on a Thameslink train to London Bridge then walk....or get Southern trains which are quicker but arrive in Victoria...then have to get tube.

So does anyone do this commute and can point me in the right direction?

Thanks !! Letdown.

Mate of mine lives in Brighton Marina. He gets a bus from Marina to Brighton Station, excellent service in rush hours according to him. Then gets train to London Bridge and walks across the river (via bridge ) to office near Liverpool Street. Walk from London Bridge to Bishopsgate will be 10 mins if you're at the "rush hour pace" or 15 if you lag behind and want to get barged into a lot from the rear...oooh errr
