Default Any IT recruitment consultants on here? CV advice please!!

I need to start afreah with my CV - I work in IT, but am wondering what sort of layout to go for - and what sort of things you guys/girls look for when scanning over the CV's

Or anyone know any good websites with decent CV templates on? I really need to get applying for some new jobs, so need to get a decent CV!!!!

I do a fair amount of recruitement but not only in IT...

1. Spelling - Get it right
2. Layout - 2-3 pages of A4 max. Keep it clear and to the point.
3. Try to differentiate yourself from everyone else - for a recent IT post I got over 400 replies for a single post.
4. Covering letter - say why you are applying (and not just "I want a job" ) and what you feel your strengths are in relation to the role

As/when if you want a comment or two then feel free to PM me and I'll take a look.

2 pages max. I went for an interview just after I left university, and the interviewer kept asking questions that I knew were covered on page 3 of my CV. When I pointed this out, he said he hadn't read that far. Since then, it's been 2 pages...
