Getting rid on an ex - politely!
Hi all
I split up with my gf some months back, however we have stayed in contact, because stupidly at the time I said Id like to stay friends(she lives nearby and chances are Ill bump into her so I thought it would be less arkward).
Anyway I now have the problem that she is texting me regularly, really, infact almost as much as when we went out (half the reason I dumped her).......I have no interest in getting back with her(though I suspect she would like to) and to be totally blunt I have no interest in her being a "mate"
I dont want to say "f-ing leave me alone" but I cant figure out how to politely say leave me alone - I dont think ignoring is right is it?
Any ideas?

Introduce the new bird (random woman she doesn't know will suffice) then politely explain that you'd like to back the contact off a bit to spare new girl's feelings. If she kicks up and doesn't back off it's a perfect excuse to tell her to fork off permanently like.

just text her saying, you dont want to be hurtfull but you feel that she is trying to pull you back into a relationship with her that you just dont want, and you feel it is time that she moved on with her life without you in it.

lol at cooper S - hmm I think silence wont work / is a bit rude - shes a nice girl but I just want to put her behind me(no jokes now ) and move on with things, Ive just been dumped by my current gf(so Im really trying to move on and get rid of things that cause me stress or I see to be negative, which means I have to totally disassociate myself)

I would say something along the lines of:
"You feel a bit crowded by her frequent texts and need a bit of space to move on with your life. Say you're sorry if you appear rude, or distant -that's not the intention- and you're sorry if she's taking the break up quite hard, but you can't move on if you're hanging off each others coat tails."
Alternatively, the 11 magic words:
I don't want to have to kill you but I will! ;-)

My mate (really) is like this. But he doesn't help his case by taking her places with his mates. And he answers her texts faster than he does mine.
She actually threw a major strop when he started seeing someone else. And he went back to her!
