We sold our Zanussi recently on e-bay for £100. Nowt wrong with it other than it didn't match the new AEG dryer. (Wife's fussy like that)

Depending on your mobility heres a choice...

Or local paper. We have thing called Friday Ad round here and I'd bought and collected an excellent Zanussi for 45 used oncers within 3 hours of seeing ad. Plus if it's local you can see who is selling and know where to moan if it's duff.

in the meantime if the leak is from the bottom of the door, you could try cleaning the inside of the glass (at the bottom) with wire wool. if that's not the cause, then pull the liquid/powder tray out and give it a good clean. that's what went wrong with our last machine about 1 year ago and since then it's been cleaned up and is happy working away at a friend's house

Sold my old Hoover washer dryer on e-bay at the beginning of the year, was having a new kitchen and wanted built in items.

Nothing wrong with the washer at all, 2 years old, it sold for £100.

I believe Bosch have just changed their range. Maybe you could get a run-out model cheap? We bought a cheap dryer two years ago and it packed up. Replaced it with a Bosch one because all our other kit is Bosch and we've had no problems (touch wood).

Got the dryer from http://www.coopelectricalshop.co.uk/

Even at Curry's et al they won't let you walk out with the washing machine, and will insist on delivering one in a couple of days. Plus they all charge you for taking the old one now, due to the new waste disposal directives.

Bob, look in yellow pages for damaged goods - there was someone in Southampton (and I was reading YP in Reigate!!) selling imperfect white goods. I got a Bosch fridge-freezer for 450 which I saw on SALE in Co-op 2 years later for 550! It had a scratch down the side, which was invisible when in its recess.

Edited - oops saw Carl already said this.

Beware. Sometimes the likes of Currys/Comet won't let you "just take it away". Seems daft, but that's how they operate. The machines often aren't kept at the store, and are delivered direct to you by lorry from a central warehouse (which prob takes a few days).

Oh btw, when my dad had his new one delivered he asked the delivery man "do you take many of these back?" figuring they would be the people most likely to know which were the unreliable makes (This was either zanussi or miele).

He said "No, that's usually the indesits"

Be warned...

I think Hoover is a pretty good work horse type machine. I never had any major problems with ours, indeed the only problem was the misses snapping off the timer control for the tumble dryer (and I still haven't worked out how she did that).

I have no issue with display stock, especially something that won't have been "fired up". Having said that my TV, 2 of my Amps and my Tape Deck are all ex demo and have been fine.

Except everyone is dissing them, I got an indescit one from B&Q for £199 about a month ago. I am sure they still had then when I was in there last week. They also have a hotpoint I think for £199.

Actually the indescit was listed at 219, but when I got to the checkout it scanned at 199....

Really should learn to read to the end of a thread rather than getting bored half way through. See that you now have one....
