Default I,m trying to find the name of an old English house from the 18/19th century.

Its called something like Eathon Newton and was designed by someone with a name like Machael Hatherstone or something.

Vague,i know..........anyone help?

Any clues,i've looked on the English Heritage site.

Dont know.I remember reading about it a while ago but cant remember the exact details.The architect was advised by Christopher Wren.

Sorry, but the vague nature of the supplied info defeated even my superior googling skills.

If you could narrow it down to North or South, or even get the spelling of some of the names right, I might be able to help.

Are you talking about Easton Neston? Designed by Nicholas Hawksmoor who worked for Christopher Wren.

Further residential property on the Estate includes the entire village of Hulcote comprising 17 cottages, together with 5 secondary houses, 4 Lodge Cottages and 2 let farmhouses.

Apart from the fact that I would have had to guess the correct spelling of both names and the completely different name of the designer, and that googling anything to do with Christopher Wren gets millions of pages about St Pauls, it obviously must have been easy to google.

Methinks you'd already heard of this stately home...

Honestly, I hadn't. I made a bit of a guess at Eaton being part of the name (for a while I thought it may have been Eaton Hall in Chester) and stumbled across an architectural website that listed a complete list of works for every important architect. A quick squizz throiugh Wren's accomplishments et voila
