Advice please
Nearly a year ago i lost my job
This was due to me taking 400 quid from the safe and giving it to my assistant manager from whom i had borrowed the money, area manager found out and i confessed all covering for my assistant manager who knew all about it.
I was then dismissed.
Technically did i steal the money ?
I did not leave the premises with it
Assistant manager knew all about it and said nothing to deter me
I know im in the wrong and accept i am
Would you now tell the truth saying about what excatly happened if this person was threatening you with heavies and trying to blackmail you
Your views whatever they are, are appriciated
Thanks

I'm failing to see how you can justify this as not stealing when you took from the company to pay another debt with a fellow workmate. By that logic if shelfstackers had a poker night and one of them lost £500 to the other then its 'ok' for him to take from the tills the tills the next day to pay his debt!?! Granted the money didn't leave the premises but can you not see how this is stealing. You are in debt to party X so take money from innocent party Y to clear it. Theft and there is no way you can explain that to anyone so if you can aviod it never mention it again and learn from your mistake

Sadly you stole the money, even if you didnt leave the premises. Cant understand how any one could blackmail you if you were caught though. Move on and try and forget it. Just think your self lucky they didnt call the Bill or you would have a criminal record.........
