How can they push for congestion charging on roads and say we should all use public transport and then propose an idea such as this. This government is preposterous.

Makes you laugh (and cry !), the goverment want you off the roads and onto public transport, so introduces congestion charging. So some people move to trains, now they and to charge you even more for going by train. Make up for mind FFS ! Shoot the lot of them and get someone with a bit of common sense runing the country and in charge of transport !

But they sodding do this already, if you want to make a train journey during peak times it costs more than off-peak, example if I'm going to London on business costs about £89 return from Cheltenham. If I left later on in the day or travel to London of a weekend it's more like £35 for a cheap day return
It just amazes me, they want to get people off the roads and using public transport but it simply isn't up to the job, the infrastructure is really poor due to years of neglect. This country is slowly falling apart. Our roads are in the worse state they have ever been in.

The spineless ***** that will have to pay this will just take it up the *** like they always do.... and then continue to vote for New Labour. At the end of the day, people get what they deserve.

The problem as I see it is that it's an excuse to charge more, without offering any extra service.
I would have no problem paying a congestion charge on the roads, if I could drive at the speed limit.
I would have no issue paying extra for a train, if it ran on time, had proper temperature control and I got a seat.
Needless to say, both will never happen, but the charges will.
It's easy to blame the current govenment..... so I will!!!! (But I won't go into another anti-govenment rant )

Labour Policy
1) If it isn't broken, break it.
2) If it's broken, throw money at it in unstructured manner.
3) Realise you can't afford to keep spending at the current rate so introduce a new tax to pay for it.
4) Go to step 1

All we need is the Tories to get some proper policies in place, rather than the jingoistic, knee jerk, rascist "blame the foreigner", "there's no difference between ayslum seekers and illegal immigrants", "Saying No to Europe for the sake of it" mentaility and they may have a chance!

We should not have to pay any extra to be able to use the roads normally, or to use trains that ran correctly as they always used to do. We already pay through the nose as well as for most anything else these days.
There are very many good reasons for saying no to Eu federation without it being just for the sake of it!
It is pretty obvious that this government has no real concern for the good of the people of this country, but only for making pronouncements that look good on paper but never actually happen. The only real interest is to gets votes but not to justify getting them.
The incompetence displayed by government organisations of all kinds is staggering and the bureaucracy incredible. How can they justify the NHS trust personnel having to almost equal the numbers of the NHS doctors, nurses etc who actually do the work at the sharp end? Are they so incapable at administration that they need to be almost 1 to 1 to take care of it?
As someone said, just keep throwing money at it and then come back for more taxes. They really are just taking the ****!

The thing that bugs me is that so much of this has happened before, the tories got in in 1979 following such monumental overspend by Labour that they had to go cap in hand to the IMF and we had the "Winter of Discontent".
The Tories then had nothing left in the coffers to invest and had to cut back to pay back the debts. Finally they get the economy back on an even track and NL get back in and start plundering the pot again.

Almost looks like Tony Blair is fooking it all up, then handing over the party to Gordon Brown, just as Labour are due to lose an election.
TB must be having a laugh at how stupid the voting public is!!

I cannot see how they can make such a poor excuse to increase ticket prices when they already at hugely extortionate amounts:
I had to take the train from Plymouth to Brimingham (no option). - £60!!!
Ok normally its £30, but even at that price its too much...
Just think I can do the same on £30 of heavily taxed petrol
And thinking about it even more I can fly to spain for £30, sometimes I can do £60 return.
What a bloody useless country

Un-fecking-believable.
I commuted on South W@nk Trains into London for 5 years. If they'd tried to ask me to pay even more to stand on a late, overcrowded, stinking train for 45 minutes or more, I'd have probably killed someone. Assuming an earlier commuter hadn't beat me to it.
I shall let the Canadian immigration authorities know that they can expect a flood of applicants from the UK. Just so they can lay on extra staff - a couple of thousand might be enough.
