Few Sony K/D 750i Questions....
hey people,
my Sony D750i (T-mobiles version of the K750i just in silver) arrives tomorrow and i was wondering a few things...
I'm going from a Nokia to the Sony and have always stuck with Nokia as i find them alot more user friendly than the other brands, how do you think i'll get on with the Sony?? ie for texting and general use...
also had a quick look at my mates Sony K750 down the pub and noticed when taking video it limits you to about 10 seconds....can this be changed?? would be damn annoying if you cant esp with a phone you can get a 1gig card for!!
Any general views pointers welcome...
cheers

For me, Sony is the new Nokia...we had a succession of Nokia's ending with a 3330 and a 6510. After that Nokia seemed to lose their way and we ended up with a z600 and a t630 - both of which have the same solid, professional, user friendly feel that Nokia used to have. We've recently picked up a Nokia 6***, the one with the qwerty keyboard, and it feels and operates a bit like a childs toy phone....yet to see a recent Nokia that I like. I'm probably moving to the 750i shortly.

i have a d750i, great phone.. but has a problem with crashing, which is not un-common at the moment.. sure they will find a fix for it soon..
texting will take a bit of getting used to, but is just as good as nokia..
camera and mp3 work really well, just be nice if it didn't turn itself off all the time.. the new connections on the bottom transfer data alot faster with usb 2.0, and there are loads of accessories coming out for them, such as a cable to hook it up to pre-outs on your headunit and use it as an mp3 changer in the car..
no problems recording over 10secs..

good news about the video then...
car acceseries sound cool, wont be able to squeeze too much on there though with only a potentail 1GB, but still pretty cool!
i'm like a big kid, cant wait to get home and play with my new toy!
reckon i'll do a 0-60 test in my car, using the vid... in a perfectly safe enviroment of course!

the Sandisk is the same as the Sony so you are stupid if you pay more. the phone cant take advantage of the high speed cards anyway.
The Duo Pro can in theory be up to 32GB. the p910i states a max of 1GB but people have tried and used 2Gb cards so the limit would seem to be higher. The problem was there where no 2Gb cards around at the time and they are expensive.
Re the headphones. I don't know what jack it is on the 750 but on the p910i it's a 2.5" one so you could buy a 2.5mm to 3.5mm converter and use some normal headphones.

fwiw- I have no end of probs with my 6230i (replaced my third SE phone in a row- T630)
the first nokia; I could hear my own voice echoing over a conversaton making conversation impossible..
second (replaced under 28 day warranty) was fine until monday when it just would not switch on (full battery, everything visually fine) ...
third one is due to arrive today.....
but if that screws up then back to SE and a 750 I go...

Just got my k750i today. Initial impressions are........its an awesome phone. Can't beleive the packed so many features into the small phone, and the menu system is fast, well way faster than my old cr@ppy philips 355 phone.
