Default Moon Landings.....HOAX??????

Did the yanks really go to the moon or not..???

Can all the moon landing pic theories about shadows and blast patterns etc etc easily be explained away?

Personally i dont believe anything any yank has ever said!!!!

I used to love the idea of it all being hoaxed but after seeing a programme the other day offering unbiased evidence for both sides I have to say the hoax theorists' arguments were blown right out of the water.

Saw the same programme........hoax theories are like conspiracy theories..total rubbish. It's always far easier to do something than create an elaborate hoax.

I dare say some people still think the earth is flat

Ok...

A couple of the arguments pro and against a hoax..

The flag was lit regardless of which side of the flag the photo's were taken. This suggests studio lighting was used and moved around to follow the astronauts movements.

In reality a single light source (in this case the sun but for tests a big halogen lamp) illuminates one side of the flag as expected but also shines through the material and gives the effect of illumination from the other side.

In none of the photo's are any stars visible, despite there being no cloud cover and no light pollution on the moon.

Although the stars are visible to the naked eye the light from them is not strong enough to become exposed on the camera film when a stronger light source is present. This was proved with photo's taken in the desert at night with a halogen source behind the camera.

The ground under the lander (Eagle) doesn't show signs of blast damage despite the rockets the lander used to control its descent.

The thrusters were actually hardly used in the final descent and also in the wider shots of the landing vehicle there are scorch marks clearly visible but they show the lander drifted almost horizontally into position rather than dead vertically as one would imagine from seeing sci-fi films.

The flag sways despite there being no wind.

The flag is mounted on a whippy aluminium pole. The movement in the flag is simply the harmonic vibration of the pole after it was rammed into the ground. The less dense atmosphere reduces the natural damping of the vibration to such a point that the slow rate is almost imperceptible.

That's a few for starters.

Ray

Adding: those are all my own words so they may not be all the right words

Weren't the Japanese doing something (powerful telescope, landing craft thingy) that would confirm/deny the landings?

I shook hands with a man that walked on the moon - there was no doubt in my mind he had been there

They brought back loads of samples of basalt rock from the moon which has a completely different chemical/isotopic signature from any basalt found anywhere on the Earth. Tons of important research has been generated from it. This would not have been possible to fake.

What freaks me out a bit whenever I think about it, is that nobody has walked on the moon during my lifetime - it was all done before I was even born. I'm 30.

I'm 30 too... it doesn't freak me out... more disappoints me that more exploration hasn't been done in my lifetime.

Fall of the Berlin wall?

Two sides meeting under the Channel? (Yeah, that's debatable if it's positive...)

Tony Blair getting re-elected?

The French voting Non?

Granted, there's only one Moon Landing, but there are thousands of events on the scale of significance of MLK's speech.

No reason to go back. They only went there to explore. Would be a waste of money.

I think we went there (well, USA did) but I dont think the photos are real.

I'm amazed that they managed to broadcast it on telly then.

I thought there had been more moon landings since, but that was the first so more significant. Could be wrong though.

Seen all the shows and read all the parafanalia and still inconclusive... So I remain comfortable with the belief that they didnt.

Good links. The first one does alot of the experiments that the TV programme did to prove the pics were real. Interesting stuff.

2nd one make me chuckle!

I like to think they did go to the moon......one day I guess we will know for sure!

I met Pete Conrad the Moon Rock Man at Daytona when he was racing his Formula Vee car there. Fascinating man to talk to and I never doubted the moon trips either.

The internet must come pretty close too ....in a sort of anorakish way....doesn't rank high on my list, but loads seem to think it's pretty important in the big scheme of things

Cool

The most comprehensive and unbiased rubbishing of the conspiracy I have yet to see.

I can't imagine many people with even a simple grasp of the mechanics of what they talk about would give any credence to the conspiracy after reading all of that site.
