Default Council Tax Banding Appeal

OK folks, got a tribunal to hear my council tax appeal. Anyone succeeded and got any tips.

Basic issue is that the valuation they have used for my (new) house is the money paid including the (£15k) extras I bought from the builders (carpets, aerial, additional power shower etc.). As a result, they think my house is worth more. Also seem to have banded whole estate the same despite houses having up to £60k spread on list prices - lazy banding methinks.

[EiW now waits for sarcasm from MattW].....

Best tip I can give you is find out if anyone else in the estate has had a successful appeal (at whatever level).

And find out beforehand if there are any other unresolved appeals.

Most importantly, get a local valuer and estate agent to give you, in writing, their opinion of value as at the relevant valuation date.

Good luck, you'll need it. Bear in mind your appeal is heard mostly by failed businessmen and or interfering old gits with nothing better to do and who's only position of authority is sitting on some sad little committee
