Far too many people receive knighthoods for doing very little at all. This one however is an exception and well deserved.

Don't get me wrong, I love OFAH and think he is a terrific actor *but* I can think of a few others who are more deserving.
I think Ronnie Barker should get knighted for the famous "fork 'andles" sketch, still makes me laugh thinking about it to this day

David Jason has done a lot for this country in terms of acting, and I can't believe those of you who say there are people who are more deserving..
To name a few...
Only Fools & Horses
Open All Hours
The Darling Buds of May
Porridge - appearances as Blanko
Frost
Porterhouse Blue
A bit Of A Do
The Bullion Boys..
A bit of background..He was born to a Billingsgate fish porter and his wife, lost his twin brother soon after they were born, and lost his long term partner to cancer.
He is one of the countrys best loved television stars, and is a shining example of what you can achieve if you work for it.. I've read the DJ biography and think now more than ever he is lubbly jubbly!!
I say about bloody time and good on him..
p.s I agree with the sentiment re Ronnie Barker.. have also read his biography and have seen all the Porridge, Open All hours anf Going straight epsiodes, together with the 2 Ronnies re reuns..(I'm too young ot have seen the originals!) and think he is also fabulous and a knighthood for him is also well over due..
