The wife wrote her car off today..

rear ended another car and did some reconstruction to the front end of hers...

the other car dosent look that bad .. bumper scraped, and the exshaust has been pushed of its mounts..

the wifes on the other hand is a mess...

bonnet like a droop snoot, both headlights, indicator and a creased wing..

the new (sob) rad i put on 3 weeks ago is bent and dripping

no one from either vehicle was injured, and my two year old who was in his car seat thinks it was fun and wants mummy to do it again... (erk)

anyway wifey phones her insurance company to get things underway...

the cars a 91 rover gti (tomcat) below av miles half leather and in reasonable nick ..

once she described the damage to her ins co, they told her it was a write off.. (wasnt surprised).. anyway she dosent get a courtesy car as its written off.. and they are comming to collect it tomorow...

and to really **** her off, they will charge the £250 excess as well... and despite having protected ncb ( 2 claims allowed in 5 years) they have told her she will loose her protection... even though she has never claimed in the last 6 years.. ( i have told her to get back on the phone and argue this with them..)

so now she has no car and is out of pocket..

she accepts it was her fault, but is understandably narked that her insurance co has basically left her carless..

luckily she dosent need a car for the next few days, but it means she will have to use the scoob untill a replacement can be found..
