Anyone got a phone number for e-bay?
Someone is selling a DVD of an event that isnt theirs to sell after taping it off the TV. I have faxed e-bay all that they need re the copyright, but it is still up there for sale - they need to pull it and NOW. Cant find a phone number anywhere...

Phone numbers for eBay are only given to Gold Powersellers and above.

What is it?
Ebay are useless, cant see them pulling the auction especially over the weekend, why are you worried about it? Is is someting that belongs to you? there are thousands of illegal listings on ebay but they rarely do anything.

eBay is big. There are email channels for a great number of specific queries.
eBay isn't useless if the correct channels are used. Granted, those who use eBay a little bit, either might not have the time, or inclination, to read up on eBays help pages available or indeed it's workings. That's why they ask for help.
However, those that trade on eBay full-time make it their job to know how it works.
eBay WILL pull a listing at the weekend if you make it easier for them and go through the quickest channels.

Spoon I have done that Vero thing Thursday - it is still up there for sale though. I need to talk to someone at e-bay NOW. This is aiding and abetting a criminal act of copyright infingment [piracy] FFS and they are just sitting back...

Spoon,
Yep I know how it works too, I have 2 Powerseller accounts both Gold(Although I think 1 may be silver), I also have access to the Powerseller forum which very often has posts about people complaining why ebay havn't pulled an auction (although no where near as many as the normal ebay Q+A.) Powersellers have dedicated email support which you tend to receive a more personalised email, instead of the normal auto responders ebay send out to most "normal" ebay customers.
I dont need to read up on all the help files to know that ebay are useless and have terrible support. They very rarely pull auctions quickly unless its pornographic or has dodgey photos, even this type normaly take up to 2 or 3 days to be removed.
Diesel why are you getting so wroked up about this? Just put in to the ebay search box jenna jameson or **** or any of the latest movies they will probably come up some where on ebay, all will be illegal copies. You could spend all day reporting them and you wouldn't have even made a mark on the amount of illegal stuff.

Yep thats true, I know how ebay support works............... very badly!

Diesel,
Sorry to keep giving you bad news but ebay class them selves as a "Venue" so they ultimately dont have control over whats sold on there site (or so they say its a load of bo11ocks if you ask me) I am sure some one could come up with a computer program that deletes this types of auction but they dont want to do it.
Do a search on google for something like "ebay only venue not responsible" and you should start to find loads of other people like your self who are very annoyed that ebay dont police there own site.

I seem to have scared him'her off with a PM, but e-bay shrugging after a faxed report of illegal activity seems pants ['pants' being a legal term of course!!]. Its a bit like a brothel owner blaming the girls and saying its nothing to do with him!!!

The comment you make about "would I be in a hurry to cancel illegal auctions" isn't worthy of a reply, nor is saying anybody gave Diesel false hope.
Should we all suggest that Diesel forgets about it even though it appears to me it's quite a personal request of some importance?
If Diesel did indeed use the correct channel then yes it's poor but maybe also he was too busy to follow it up like some can, i.e via phone support or Liveworld. That's not saying eBay is right, just too busy to sort everyone out quickly unless they are badgered a bit.
3 cases of illegal listings were pulled within 5 minutes of reporting them recently via Liveworld by fellow PS's earlier this week.

What have liveworld got to do with ebay listings??? They are the hidden moderators for ebays forums?
Guessing by diesels post he isn't a gold powerseller (or above) so he doesn't have access to the powerseller phone number, and even if he did have it they would refuse to speak to him.
As just about anyone know, the only thing big corparations are interested in at the end of the day is .......Profits £ and $, very rarely anything else.
What other reason would they allow these listings, I know many people and companies have offered there services to ebay so that illegal auctions can be controlled and deleted but guess what? All there ideas have fallen on deaf ears.

How could liveworld pull them when they only have authority over the forums?
As far as I know ebay support are the only ones who can cancel auctions.
