does anyone on here remember a childrens story where a chicken decides to make some bread, and no body helps. (it was my favourite!!)

the basic story is that a chicken wants to make some bread,
"who'll help me collect the ingredients?"
No one helps
Who'll help me mix the dough?
No one helps
etc etc.
then when the bread is made everyone of the animals wants some.
But the chicken says no, you wouldn't help gather it, mix it and cook it so you can't help eat it!!!

does any one know where i can find a copy, i have searched google and amazon. i just want a copy to show my missus who thinks im insane and have made the story up in my head.

I thought the hen found out that eating alone was no fun and that rather than being a miserable old sod she decided to share. Seems there are different endings posted on the net.

You'd like the grasshopper and the ant as well then!

I thought the hen left the farm and all the lazy **** animals and set up her own farm employing decent hard working ones. She then married a huge **** and was very happy indeed!
