Walking to the local pub last night at around 10.30 pm happened to see several traffic wardens around. Thought this a bit strange as it was quite late. Saw nearly a dozen cars with penalty notices on them. Although I feel sorry for the drivers, at the end of the day they were parked illegally and should have no cause for complain, even at the late hour. They even booked a taxi with its engine running.

However, got to the end of the road, and I see the wardens van parked up on double yellows themselves! Also partway over a very busy driveway. No hazards or lights on, nothing. they must have been parked up a while due to the number of tickets issued. Overheard somebody saying that they were photographing illegally parked cars too, so I whipped my phone camera out and took a few snaps, as im sure either they have issued tickets illegally by parking illegally themselves, or they should be in for a fine themselves. Once they saw me by the van taking pictures, they started back and by the time I got the last picture 2 were in the van.

Either way it's bang out of order for them to be parked in the way they were yet ticket everything else in sight apart from the lamposts!

Oh what I would have given for a clamp and a false ticket to put on their van.

Report the *******! Local rag would love a story like this, maybe even email the Sun or Mirror, they'd like it as well, never know, could kickstart a photo campaign to photograph all the traffic warden vehicles that are illegally parked

I agree with the above too, send pics to local papers and also the sun, they love stuff like that.

did you say anything to the wardens as they got back into the van ? just wondered if they had anything to say for themselves

I'm a member of the CSMA and their mag has arrived today. In the back there is a piece written by Mike Rutherford (Auto Express) complaining about this sort of hypocrisy. Alongside there is a pic of a stafford scamera van parked on double yellows.

Doesn't he also have a column in one of the tabloids?

sent the pics and the text to the local paper and to a few nationals earlier. have also mailed the local council to complain.just have to wait and see what happens.
