He is a role model and should be a positive role model for young people in society and this does not give out the right message."
Stinks of hypocracy when Police are also expected to be role models too!

"Ferdinand, who is currently in Africa doing charity work"

Unacceptable. All the charity work he does is clearly going to suffer now that he's banned. Seriously though, the comments of the judge really got up my nose - what a condescending twit.

The ban sounds about right to me... The fines should be more variable though. I mean, he probably earns £1500 in the time it'd take him to have a slash.

I wonder if ordinary members of Joe Public would be treated the same?

I suppose a lot of it is having a lawyer who knows how to dial up the right scenario in the Magistrates' mind(s).

"This court views speeding on local highways most seriously, particularly when the speed is more than 100mph"

Isn't it a shame the Ludlow Magistrates at PC Mark Milton's trial didn't feel the same...

wtf?! How the hell can that ban be alright? Hello, hes been banned 4 times before :s He obviously doesnt give a ****, and sbe punished so that he takes some notice! As you say fines wont bother him at all, as he 'earns' such a ridiculous amount.

Why didnt he just say he was testing the limits of the car? Works for off duty policemen so why not one of the gods of football?
