The ban sounds about right to me... The fines should be more variable though. I mean, he probably earns £1500 in the time it'd take him to have a slash.
I wonder if ordinary members of Joe Public would be treated the same?
I suppose a lot of it is having a lawyer who knows how to dial up the right scenario in the Magistrates' mind(s).

FFS !!!!! 28days and its his fourth ban, one for drink and a previous two for speeding.
I got banned a few years ago for speeding when I was younger, similar speed empty road clean licence at the time and I got a 4 month ban, jumped up w*nker springs to mind
