P.S. Jokes aside, they paid a high price for an -admitedly very stupid- stunt. Lets hope that some good comes out of it and this disuades someone from trying something similar.

The only answer is to ban Star Wars!
Star Wars is the root of the problem. It is not the fault of stupid kids who have no common sense whatsoever!
Sorry they got hurt, fecking stupid thing to do!

It's funny some people just don't seem to realise how explosive petrol is. It's the age old discussion about running cars on LPG and someone goes "isn't it a bit dangerous having a gas tank in the back of the car", errr no worse than the 50l of petrol you are carting about

how bizzarre, as if swinging glass tubes at each other wasn't dangerous enough?
They must be special needs or something, no normal person would do something so stupid. This begs the question who left 2 window lickers alone with 4ft test tubes and a gallon of unleaded ?

I really do pity them. Getting seriously burned has got to be one of the worst things that can happen to a human. The amount of pain that they must be in will be incredible.
Something tells me that they are going to spend their life on benefits now, assuming that they manage to recover
Let's just hope that nobody else has such a daft idea.

I agree with you, but that said, there is a difference between knowing someting is a bad idea (as they must have known) and doing it anyway as opposed to knowing something is a bad idea, seeing it go spectacularly wrong for someone else and still doing it.
The latter takes an even more special stupidity!!

Ah, Lord Darwin, the force is not strong with these ones!
I know I did a few silly things when younger, but at age 17, I *knew* that filling something with fuel and setting light to it was a silly thing to do, let alone that item being made of glass, and thin glass at that.
I've had fake lightsaber duels whilst drunk, but used the normal type things, baseball bats, scafolding poles, french sticks, but never fluorescent light tubes, as I know it's silly.
If I wanted the effect's angle, i'd have nicked a van-de-graff (sp?) generator or two from the local school and then used a complete tube, carefully I might add, with hand placed on the generator, wham, lighted fun. That or get a glowstick and pour the contents in the tube.
I gues they will learn, the hard way, from their mistake, if of course they survive. If they don't learn, well, it'll be because they are terminally foolish, or they have shuffled loose of the mortal coil.
