I drove a ferrari last night
had a quick go in a 348ts. not bad. didn't exactly think it was superfast compared to the scooby though, but then it was made in 1990. still it was a nice car to drive. a proper car. no power steering, no traction control etc etc.
my dad managed to put it completely sideways as he pulled out of the end of the road.

A mate has a 348TS too. Keep asking for a go but theres always an excuse.
Its actually been sat under covers for the best part of 12 months so isn't even taxed poor thing.
I'll blag him eventually

348's are under rated cars...300bhp and 7500+ RPM and like you said if you get an early one no power steering They don't feel fast but a look at the speedo often tells you different. Seen 170mph on the clock in one but don't believe that for a minute They got slated for being diffucult to handle on the limit but unless you're provoking it on a track or driving really aggressively on the road they're pretty easy to drive quickly Fit a decent tubi style exhast and they sound amazing too.
I always remember driving one 1000 miles in 3-4 days once going London-lakes-back for a mini break...i was driving fairly rapidly along one of the great roads in the lakes and the guy who owns hard to find records came up behind me me in his Diablo...when we got to a dual carriageway bit we both went for it and it felt/looked like the throttle peddle in the Ferrari had snapped or something.....he absolutely anihilated me

Shame he doesnt spend his cash on improving his business- it bloody needs it
I would love a 348- surprisingly affordable to buy- sadly, not to run

Yep, 348's cost a bomb to run, clutches are very weak point....make sure you get the single clutch not the twin one as the unit is half the price! Unfortunately the only way to tell which one is has is to take it apart

My sister drives her boy friend's 355 around. I thought it very good but did not have the instant rush you get from a well tweaked Scooby. Its like my M3 though, the acceleration just keeps going on and the overall performance is very good indeed. They do sound nice too!
