I got branded “an uneducated chav” solely because I have a manual job and not an office based job by one of the temp pen pushers in our office.
Take no notice of them, some people are totally close minded and caught up in their own self importance.

I always thought that the wagons were more chav like, due to them being slightly cheaper and therefore more affordable to the burberry and 'sov' crowd...

The Impreza saloon has become a chav icon, no question. It's well known that the police send theirs into rough areas in the knowledge that the local chavscum will give themselves up immediatly just to get a ride back to the station in it.

I work with a very shallow young lady who if I said "hmm, not sure if I like those shoes" would reply with "these shoes?? These are Gucci and cost £230" !!!
As for those lads, you should have just smirked and muttered "peasants" - far more effective.

I see some right sheds being driven round here, a suped up nova that looks a bag of ****e but i wouldnt go up to the owner (it is his pride and joy) and call him a chav, or slag his choice of car off so why do other people feel the need to slag us off?
Chavs are no longer a pocket in society or a minority - they ARE the youth of today. It's fashionable it seems.
Britain has a MAJOR problem with it's youth culture. Backed up by highest drug abuse/teen pregnancy in Europe. Blatant degradation of respect and values we're descending into one of the most slobbish un-cultured societies in Europe.
Embarrassing.

I have to say that i agree with everything you said BigMan, i suppose i should be grateful that they only called me a Chav and didnt do my car some damage. Where i used to live i had to park in a car park and one day i saw a teenager aged about 16 walking over everbodys bonnet. like you said, no respect.

Yobbos like to try to get a rise out of people (at least we did 'in my day' ) - you can't be sexist, racist, heightist, ageist (and probably a whole load of other ..ists) - but it does seem acceptable currently to abuse people for the car they drive (eh Ken Livingstone? )
I don't really know what 'chav' means... I never hear the phrase except on this bbs... - what does that tell you? - as posted above - don't use it!
