Default Hog Roast ?

My brothers 30th in a few weeks & he wants a party with a Hog Roast.
People we have tried only will cater for larger functions - our party will be 25-30 people max.
We need someone to supply all the stuff & cook it on site, serving etc is catered for.
Party will be in Haslemere, Surrey, so anyone know who can do this for us ?

cheers

Why not hire a Cinders barby from Calor, do a deal with a local butcher and pay someone £50.00 to cook it for you and save yourselves a fortune?

I've helped out at a few of these, it's really quite easy and great fun for all the blokes in a caveman kind of a way.
First time we had a 70lb deer which took 8 hours, last two have been a sheep and a lamb, 50lb and 40lb respectively, which took about 4 hours to cook. You can get a lamb from the butcher for about £60/70.
Just dig a pit and fill it with charcoal (lots) make a spit with some scaffolding, stick a big pole up it's **** and off you go. You'll need some kind of baste, e.g. lots of olive oil, lots of garlic, salt and rosemary.

Hog Roast sounds like an excellent idea. I think I will try and do one this summer too....but I do prefer lamb mmmmmmm.

Also to the idea of getting a deal with the butcher, never thought of that

I buy a whole lamb from the butcher for between £1.10-£2.00lb. depending on season.Average weight is about 35-40lb.

Make sure you get the best Welsh lamb though
