Why Spoil our lovely countryside
Has anyone noticed the increasing amounts of trailers being placed along britains motorways with advertising all over them....
Have the farmers now given up growing spuds and pulling in monies from this type of advertising.
Motorways are bad enough without spoiling the countryside views along the way.......

As far as I know you are not allowed to erect billboard type ads along the UKs main roads at the moment as they do in France, Spain the US etc.
Using trailers is a way around this as its not a permanent advertising structure therefore its allowed. Should be stopped though as they are an eyesore.

I don't have much of an issue with it. I suppose it depends where you are, how many adverts they are, and how much of an eyesore.
Around here there are not that many adverts, and to be honest the ones that are they, are pretty tasteful. As always though, as soon as money is to be made, the world will go mad.
It would be nice to have some sort of regulation to allow limited advertising, trailer or not. At least that would be a reasonable compromise.

Have a drive along the M-40, there seems to be another crawler lane, except this one is over the fence in the fields....
I'm not a countryside-ist either, just wanted to see what peoples responses were.
