Speed Camera detectors - Which one??

Scooby Regular
I've just ordered a Snooper S4 - should get it Tuesday. It tells you what the speed limit is when you approach a camera - which is something the RoadAngels don't do... Also got an excellent deal from Monty's of Sheffield via e-bay!

Second vote for Origin B2 here! Works brilliantly. I think some newer models are completely stand alone so you don't ned to run as many wires.
POI database for Sat Nav isn't a bad idea, but my experience with Tom Tom is that, unlike with the B2, the warnings aren't related to the speed you're doing at the time and i don't think they're directional.
Also, with the lastest Origin B2 software, when the unit's in non-alert mode, you get a huge digital speedo display.

In my experience with Road Angels and Snoopers etc, they continually go off in places where there may, or may not be a plod with a Laser, Scamera etc. They continually bleep on the M25, due to the gantry cameras, that may, or may not be active. This is more annoying that informative.
Basically, if you're un-observant enough to miss a fixed gatso, truvelo, etc, then you deserve to be caught. If you get zapped by mobile plod from a bridge or mobile scamera'd, then that is slightly different IMHO.
For this, your best line of defence is a laser jammer. Illegal, yes, but just make sure you have an electric garage door at home!. Oh and don't, like one chap who is now banned from driving, continually drive past the said laser just to check that you are jamming it!
