I would say less than a year. If we get a big recession, it will spell the end of NL in any case. Their "handling" of the economy is pretty much the only thing that got them in this time round.

I reckon Blair should go about half-way through the term, which would give Brown a chance to establish himself and be able to win a fourth innings.

You'd think they would learn from history
The Tories lost in 1987 mainly because....
1.Disunity in the party.
2.The theory that if they had a more right wing leader they would be more popular.
Now some labour mps are calling for a change in leader.Who do they want, the more left wing Gordon Brown.
Muppets, even if i say so myself.

Without TB, NL would have never been elected. Let's face it, they only got the vote of middle england coz of TB. Will middle england vote for Brown (or anyone else)? It's the votes of middle england/floating voters that decide who gets into power.

The timing of his departure will be interesting mainly because he's got to work out how to best leave a legacy which he's proud of whilst at the same time making sure he's not associated with the poison chalice that Brown will inherit.
I reckon Autumn, this year.
