Smile Medium level kitchen recommendations?

Hi guys.

About to start refurbing my 'wreck' when I get back from hols. I need a new kitchen(amoungst other things!).

I'm looking for something a step up from Wickes/Magnet/Sharps but not high end designer bespoke jobbies.
Any thoughts?

Deep

Who's installing it, you or "them"? If you, I remember a lot of votes for Ikea cabinets on here, change the doors later.

What sort of buget do you have and what space. Is it just units or appliances as well.

If you already have the carcases, replacement doors are the way to go.

Not to be installed by ME personally but have a builder who will do

Need appliances and units

No idea what a carcase is mate!

Space is about 16 by 14(feet)

As for budget, ideally £10-12k inc appliances but excluding fitting

I have just done my kitchen, Wickes units, nice range & extractor, fitted dishwasher and washing machine, new floor, re-done electrics and plumbing. I fitted the units myself (excluding the work top which was solid beech) and did the flooring, plumbing and tiling and it has come in at a touch under £10K.

The Wickes units & doors alone were about £4K (Solid pine doors and a Belfast sink). We looked at Moben and the units for that came in at £7500, Magnet were a bit cheaper. That was a 3m x 4m Kitchen, base units round 3 walls and high level on 1 and a bit.

My advise would be to look here www.kbsa.co.uk
Use a local specialist which will not cost you as much as you think.
You will get a personal service, better quality and a price that will probably suprise you.......I generally do that with my clients anyway and I have been in this industry for 20 Years and I`m only 36!!!
www.anglia-interiors.co.uk
Web site`s a bit dated I`m afraid need to find someone who can make it more impressive for me???
any recomendations????
if you are near me I`ll happily give you some free and impartial advise Deep singh.
We generally beat the likes of Magnet without having to resort to giving away things that are built in the price anyway
We have rigid 19mm colour co-ordinated carcasses and a range of about 250 doors!!!!!
Major in Neff equipment and you`ll pay less than any internet shop.
Good luck.
Give me a call even if you are out of my area as there must be a specialist in your area too.

Just had a kitchen fitted by a local independent, a range called 'Broadoak' (Shaker stylee) and am pleased with the quality - definitely better than the usual suspects and would easily be within your price range. Thought at one point of going silly and looked at Poggenpol but to be honest the quality didn't seem any better for twice the price (and I'm selling up soon), although the styles were a bit more adventurous. I think a lot comes down to the quality of fitting.

We do the same door.
Nice.
The thing is we do component kithens a bit like the guys you just used do.
The company that makes that door dont make complete kitchens so you need to mate the door to a good quality carcass.
Tandem softclose drawers and doors are pretty standard on ALL of our kitchens now.
We doo all of these impoprters doors......www.pws.co.uk
Mostly Italian and very nice.
We also do Keller imported furniture from Holland which does all come complete....more like the Pggy stuff but a fair bit less money.
You need to see the difference between this sort of furniture and components.

Worth spending a bit more and getting good appliances imo - should be within your budget - can't go too wrong with Smeg / Bosch..

Dont know about medium level but heres is what we have just literally finished
Its a B&Q Maple style kitchen ( was told all the main sellers have the carcasess made by the same factory ) , fitted by a friend and his joiner mate (with all the right tools ) appliances were bought from here (Belling range cooker , Belling integrated fridge Belling cooker hood and Smeg integrated dishwasher )We also had the floor tiled and under tile heating installed, a Carron Phoenix Granite bowl and a half sink
Total cost somewhere between £5500 and £6000 , not worked it out exactly yet , we had a number of places design it including B&Q Wickes and some local companies then took what we wanted and liked and went ahead
Was quoted up to £16k by some companies for basiclly the same kitchen

Not being funny mate but looking at your kitchen just makes my job a little easier.
You can see the nice white 15mm hardboard backed units with what looks like light maple doors on all white edges and stuff!!!
We use rigid 19mm carcassing all colour coded to the door fascia for about the same money as you`ll pay for "A COMPLETE KITCHEN"
Thats fitting appliances the lot which is what most of our clients actually want.
They dont want to get their own tradesman who will charge you in some cases more than we would!!
We use Corgi Registered plumbers and Part P qualified electricians.
Bear in mind I see this sort of comparison on a daily basis and it does actually make my job easier.
PLUS we can pretty much make any cupboard any size.
You`ll end up buying say 2 600mm units for us to supply you with 1 1200mm and that means two lots of fitting!!!
i love seeing other multiples costings crack me up.
FREE dishwasher yeah right!!!

DEEP SINGH I`m in Cambridgeshire and Bedfordshire mate and I am not a salesmen I am one of the owners but get involved in sales and design every day meeting clients etc.

Aaron, I presumed you owned the company given the cars you have owned!!

I'll give you a bell when I get back from hols in two weeks time if thats all right.
I did'nt want to mention it but I also find the BQ/Magnet type kit to leave a bit to be desired in terms of quality. I'm looking to pay a little more but c'ant afford full on Chelsea designer prices.

Off to the airport soon, speak in a couple of weeks.

ps I'm in Essex so not too far??

We spent 4 hours on New years eve with a salesman who talked just like you , even gave us a bottle of expensive red wine , we thought yeah lets go for it , happy with the price and design , arranged for a final measure up and he never showed , some excuse about being stuck with a client , in the end he was like all salesman in every buisness full of **** !
we are more than happy with our kitchen great price and works a treat, ok its missing a cupboard door big whoop !
