Animal Roadblocks Anyone?
Driving home from a monster ale up in Southport yesterday we happened upon a horse with carriage stopped in our lane on the A570.
The carriage passengers had disembarked and they, us and about a hundred others watched this man, at first thinking he was the horse whisperer, then he became the horse speaklouder, then the horse shouter and briefly the horse puncheronthenoser!!
He then tried (poorly) to drag the now sore, grumpy and increasingly stubborn horse across the road - horse - having the strength of many men simply refused to budge....
Realising that his macho bravado of shouting was not having Doctor Doolittle effects, he resumed a calmer approach, eventually moving the animal out of the way...
Our delay 10 minutes - the look on the horses face when the bald angry man tried to drag it down the road - priceless
Has anyone else witnessed a bovine type roadblock? I remember the great thread re the cow on the bonnet of the car... But who else has seen such traffic jam humour?
