the standard (obvious) things are :

Casino
Stars and Bars
Harbour
GP Circuit

But as Scoob99 says, the real monaco is a great place with fabulous little cafe's / coffee shops, etc.

The surrounding scenery if you go for a drive is stunning also.

Cheers

Simon

PS.

If you're arriving at nice airport and don't have a hire car, take the option of the helicopter transfer from nice to monaco to start the holiday off in style

Don't drink at the cafe in Casino Square unless you're feeling very flush. Was 10 euros a beer back in 2003

We had a spare day after the Monty and spent it wondering round. Up round the Palace and the gardens was glorious in the sunshine. The old buildings are very very impressive. Even the multi-story carparks are immaculate.

Driving the GP circuit really brings home how narrow it is, although we might have been a tad slower in a 1.2 Clio rental-special

Places like Villefranche-sur-Mer and Beaulieu-sur-Mer on the coast are very picture-esq (nice alternative to using the motorway). If you have a hire-care, go inland to Sospel and find the rally route up the Col-du-Turini. The roads are rather good...

I've got a load more pictures somewhere...

I remember those beers Chris!

Great place - in fact, I'm going back in a couple of weeks.

It is quite small - you can easily walk around it. The other thing you've got to do is drive the F1 circuit - everyone does it

I went to the GP the year Ferrari were 1st and 2nd with Schumacher and Barrichello,
enjoyed it immensely.

The sound of the F1 engines shattering the silence bouncing off the tall buildings first thing in the morning I will never forget.

Some really sleazy types in the casino, creates an amazing atmosphere.

I am not saying any more on the grounds of further incriminating myself .

Its a nice place though, I enjoyed the rest of the time I was there, and the coppers were very friendly-eventually!

Monaco always reminds me of Lord Farquar's castle in Shrek The place looks perfect, I doubt you'll find a *** end on the pavement or a blade of grass out of place!

love to see what the boats in the harbour are like now 20 years on
from their size they practically could be their own country & timezone!

Been there a few times when my sister crewed on the Super-yachts......Stars n bars was the main watering hole and also the bar in the corner of the harbour there. I think could be a bit pricy to stay in the , square mile..?.......itself and i suspect campin is frowned upon..........prob.good place to go for an evening all told
as said to the west and just inland at this point some quieter, more resonable places

Hmm, yes. I have vague memories of getting very very hammered in there.

You can look around parts of the Pink Palace, or there's Jaques Cousteau's marine museum too.
Yes its expensive, yes its small, even down to the funny leetle post carts all lined up in one of the squares. But its so pretty and very well kept.

plenty to do in NICE. and a train to M/Carlo is only about 13euros return for TWO.

Depends where you stop... and what you want to buy...but always had a good value holiday in NICE.
