The end of an era

The end of an era
I am gutted. MG Rover closes its doors. My entire sincere sympathy goes out to all workers, their families and friends tonight. Lets not kid ourselves, there was no hope, BMW made the wood for the coffin, looks like the Phoenix consortium supplied the gold plated nails. The writing has been on the wall for many years, its a shame really as I believe we were once a great country with many great people with great ideas and great talents. Unfortunately over the years, the minority, the few, have ruined what could have been a formidable car industry. The unions, the militant anti management so called ideals and beliefs, the corruption, as well as the wallet swelling capitalists, oh I could weep. I bet Messrs Austin and Morris are spinning in their graves.........
RIP MG Rover, God bless

its amazing how everbody blames BMW for rovers demise!!!
erm who made the decision to jump into bed with bmw??
rover were doing ok with honda, not superbly but some good reliable cars using the honda lump..
a large portion of the blame has got to lie with rover management and the unions..
prhaps if productivity and quality had been better they may have been a viable proposition.
it amazes me that billy & his cronies are pumping in cash...
hang on i got made redundant in the 80,s & 90,s therefore i should be entitled to a rover sized compo bung... like ****!!!
anyway isnt it the union who should be stumping up the cash, dont the subs go into a contingency fund??
the only way it could survive now would be for radical cuts and restructuring.
without intervention from rover management & the unions..
but that will never happen...
