If you don't like the Royal Family..
Who would you suggest as the perfect representative family for the UK?

Agreed. Most other countries seem to manage to get along fine without one, so I don't see any reason why we couldn't as well.

Outdated institution that should be disbanded.
They should learn from other more 'human' monarchs that are actually in touch with what actaully goes on in their countries

Anyone know how you just disband an institution that's been around for years?

When it comes to monarchies it usually involves sharp implements and royal necks.

Perhaps if they were all strung up then it would give ole Camilla time to think "perhaps I shouldn't have married old large ears now"

You could argue that the current Royals perfectly represent the majority of our Great Nation.

paul-s........ King Arthur was probably just the same ... remember Lancelot, Guinevere, etc etc.......... we just see the romantic stories set around those people and times.
As for the Tudors...........well...... just how many wives can one king get through? So our Royal family are pretty tame really.
As Moses says above, the core of the family are ok and seem to earn their pennies. But the peripherals.....Andy the Flyer and Eddie the ....?? and all that follow are really surplus to requirements and should be sent to a small island somewhere a very long way away.

I always thought that if we were a republic, Frank Bruno would make a great president and ambassador for our country.
Prior to his mental breakdown, of course
I can just imagine him at an EU/UN summit. And if there was a disagreement, it could always be settled with a fight.
