You can only get the number if the seller lists it on the contact page you get when you win an item.

Have you complained to ebay and left bad feedback?

What's the item number of the re-listed item?

If you paid by paypal he must know he received the money and therefore must have received your emails!

How much did you pay?

Not true.

When you buy an item, half way down the email it says Contact information - Exchange contact details:

Click on this and follow it. Information held by eBay that doesn't necessarily show on the contact address details in your "My eBay" will be emailed to you. Likewise your details will be sent to the seller.

There has to be a phone number otherwise the seller can be Naru'd for incorrect contact details.

This should always be done before anything else.

That's exactly what I said

The phone number is only there if the seller chooses for it to be there.

When I sell stuff I don't even give my addres and get the seller to email me for it.

It's not what you said at all!! Read the fúcker before you get on your high horse.

The phone number is sent to you from eBay whether or not the person decides to make it public in the contact details as long as you are involved in a transaction with that person.

Yes, but the only way to get the number is if it's provided - AS I SAID.

Bored now, Mr handbag....

No it is not. It's mis-information like yours that gives eBay a bad name. Used properly 99% of misunderstandings CAN be sorted without resulting to just giving -ve feedback out of ignorance.

So if the number's not provided by the seller to ebay, ebay can still provide it?

Erm no. Not possible. Think about it.

I think you need to relax a bit, Mr Angry LOL.

That's not what you were saying and you know it. What is visible on the contact details isn't necessarily what eBay hold.

You have to submit a phone number to open an account, you can choose not to show it in your contact details but eBay have it and will release it if requested.

I'm not angry, I simply take a dislike to cocky false information, especially from those who refuse to see or admit they are wrong.

You're angry and uptight. That's how you come accross, anyway.

Ebay do not hold my phone number and never have. I have sold over 250 items on ebay and have never had a request for my phone number...........

And WTF is cocky about me saying stuff about phone numbers? If you mean I'm being cocky to you then you need to remove your head from your ****.

I rather think you're embarrassed and so have resulted to name calling which only serves to confirm it.

eBay will have your phone number. The fact that nobody has asked for exchange details yet doesn't mean they haven't got a contact number. It means nobody has asked yet!!

Paul- Have you found the link yet?

Yeah, I'm blushing with it.

I didn't call you any names? I simply pointed out the angry, uptight nature of your replies.

If I'm hitting a nerve, I'm sorry. I don't think there are any BBS anger management classes yet.

i was selling something on ebay and because i was working away stated on my auction paypal only, the plick that won it said "can i pay by cheque" i said, i don't have an address for you to send the cheque to, which is why i listed as paypal only, he then got my contact info from ebay! so i mailed him and said "i've told you i'm working away so you why did you get my address from ebay" got an apology but why can't people settle things quickly, its not hard?

That's just a trust issue. Telling someone you don't have an address to send it to (even though you are working away from home) made him think he was dealing with a travelling pikey

No he's not a timewaster, he's a messer that wanted to pay but can't read and take in basic terms and conditions of your listing.

People like to know somebody belongs somewhere before they part with money.

He shouldn't have bid if he couldn't abide by your t&c's but I have several people a day asking for something I don't "allow". The thing is they do want to pay and in all the cases I will accommodate that even if it means I have to "stretch" a little.

Furthermore they go on to be repeat customers who do then follow my t&c's when they know the way it works a little more and the importance of why you make out your t&c's like you do.

Sure if you feel financial gain is timewasting, messing. We sing from a different hymn that's all.

As for blowing things up well, if you mean contributing another opinion for why people do things they do, then fine again.

I agreed he wasn't adhering to your t&c's but merely stated why he might have felt vunerable.
