Default O2 Online Contract Advice

My 12month Online 200 contract is up & they aren't playing ball regards a free phone upgrade, even though the phone is free to new users
Anyone know if I could cancel the contract, getting a PAC code issued first, and then re-apply with O2 online again as a new contract & use the PAC code to keep my number!?

I had this trouble with o2 also. What i did was ring the disconnection number told them i was giving my 30 days notice of disconnection.Their response was why to which i said dont beleive in paying their upgrade prices and looking for a better deal else where.

The result i got was how about we give you the phone for free and upgrade you to online 200.My response was ok and to this date i am still on online 100 so result for me.Hope this helps.

ps my upgrade phone was a V3 dont know if they are free now.

O2 finally agreed to match any deal I could find on the web (after trying to charge me stupid prices). Because I didn't like their attitude I told them to shove it where the sun don't shine and will never go back to them. A long involved story but that is the very short version.

Have just gone through this myself.
You CANNOT get a PAC and transfer from one O2 online account to another.
I wanted the V635 and they were wanting £69 iirc for it due to my monthly spend. I was none too happy about this and had a couple of arguments over the phone re. how new customers get it for nothing and I am paying for one despite my loyalty to O2.
I shopped around and there are no other deals that come close from Vodafone, Orange ect. however I decided to go in to the O2 high street store and see what could be done. I told them the story (all except the price of upgrade) and asked them if they could deal with the upgrade and if so how much ? In the end it cost me £40 to upgrade to the handset I wanted and the Online 200 is still in place with the same contract.
