Golden retriever pups, where from?
I'm looking at getting one if not two of the above.
Can anyone recommend a good breeder or just point me in the general direction of where I should be looking.
Many thanks

If you want a proper one with a good pedigree then forget about Freeads, or anything like it.
As said above, the Kennel Club is an excellent place to start. Shame you're a few weeks late for Crufts, as it's a great place to pick up info for anything like this. If you're not bothered if they're coming from 'puppy farms' (though you should be) then go the free ads route, and see if you can get one that doesn't walk backwards and wag it's head.
A good source is Champdogs

Click on 'Guided search', 'Gundogs', 'Golden Retrievers' for loads of info.

check under puppies and then contact, then find the local contact to you and contact them for lists of breeders that have puppies in your area.
I got 2 puppies last year, haven't regretted it at all.

Maybe pop over to the Kennel Club website and see if they have a list of reputable GR breders.
A copy of Horse & Hound would also be a good place to look, quite a few good breeders advertise in there.
Good luck getting a new companion, it's always sad having to say goodbye to an old friend and contemplate obtaining a new one

These rescues are usually well cared for animals but divorce/house move/misc has got in the way. They are also free! (donation requested) as I guess a good pup must be £450 - £500 these days??? Good luck - how old was Digby? David

This would avoid puppy training etc which brings mixed blessings ! and may be easier on our other 2 dogs (Cavaliers).

You really should try a rescue shelter first - people that pay money to buy a pedigree dog, when there are dogs out there without a home are being a bit selfish imho.
The only exception is if there are no retrievers in a shelter for miles around, but me personally I would wait for one to turn up. We have about 3 dogs in the family now that came from shelters and they are superb, especially our aunties retired guide dog
