I didn't realise they did so many though...
I think they used to do an odd-looking one along with Pashley on a kind of space frame chassis. Not any more it seems

Anyway, it's the basic design that's stayed around (and only on the series 1, 2, defender, NOT the disco, freelander, rangie etc.), not the actual cars although there's probably a few that people are continually propping up on the road (as with many other old 'relics' such as 2cvs, beetles etc.). Most have been scrapped and new/replacements bought in their place.
They were good in their time, but are has beens now (bit like the scoob really ). The basic landy has stood the test of time in respects to off roading (along with the jeep wrangler) but as long as it doesn't venture towards the road then it's safe In a way, I see them as great tools rather than cars. After all, many if not most farmers have separate vehicles for people transportation outside of the farm.

Marketing nonsense anyone?
Just rebadged bikes manufactured by someone else, but with LandRover stickers put on to satisfy some "lifestyle" theme dreamed up by Land Rover's marketing dept/ad agency to draw in punters to buy into the "lifestyle" they like to present that goes along with the Land Rover image.
Quick question. Would you spend £30k-50k on a serious off road 4x4 motor vehicle that was called the Raleigh Offroad? If not, why not?
