police take pics lol
They must of been bored yesterday ,drivin through bristol centre yesterday afternoon.Police in camera van in lane next to me swerve in behind with the lights goin pointing at me to pull over and there is nowhere to go,so eventually pull in .Then get, your car is spitting out flames ,its a public hazard
To which i start laughin and say oh well it must be overfuelling,then because im laughin he gets stropy,tells me to get in the van and starts going on about no -plates ,and is takin pics of the back luckily no flames then (flamer kit off ) End with VDR (complete waste of time as mate MOT tester)
and a producer.This must of taken 20 mins of 2 policemans time .Which in bristol there was probaly 10 muggins and 5 murders .What a complete waste of time

Just because it's a Car forum doesnt mean we automatically understand the point of having an illegal addition to a car that doesnt help performance in any way.
As to complaining the police arent doing their job - they are doing exactly that. I dont see your complaint ? They are stopping you for doing an illegal and potentially dangerous thing.

NumberPlate misplaced to make it look like something it isn't? Buy one that spells what you want without being illegal - if you can't afford one you can't afford one!

Your mate would lose his Testers licence, then what would he do??

Whats a priority for the police in this country, utilising head count to solve/prevent serious crime or sending officers out to raise funds for very minor offences?
I think its plainly obvious.

There is merit in B2Z's post. Only the other day the Chief of Police for Northamptonshire was saying they don't have enough officers to sort their murder cases and they were going to have to draft in from other forces at overtime rate. I bet they don't pull any traffic cops off the street to deal with it.
And before you say anything about traffic cops not being trained to deal with non-traffic incidents. They should be!

The thing is, the muppets who get away with `very minor offences` may go on to try major offences before too long. Note I used may, not will.
This clown needs to learn that if he commits an offence (regardless of if he, or you for that matter, thinks it is trivial) then he can expect to get pulled.

I'm just saying that it's a perception of the public that the 'victimisation' of motorists ranks more importantly than solving 'real' crime and headlines like the one I mentioned only reinforce that perception.
