Default Dog hurt playing!

Playing with my dog last night in the park, rolling all over floor as you do...

noticed when we were walking home that he was limping, assumed he had got something stuck in his paw, had a good look but nothing found. He did yelp a bit when i touched his leg though.

Have got an appointment with the vets at 4, just really worried about him.

Can dogs pul muscles in there back legs, i have never come across it before, i just hope he hasnt done any perm damage.

Prob just a sprain, pull or bruise. You will get some anti flams and away you go.

He is a pain in the a$$, runs around for 2 hours easy, problem with pups isnt it, yeah they dont know when to stop.

I hope it is something that can be cured with tablets, he looks so forlawn at the moment. i am far too soppy when it comes to animals....

go canny when exercising a pup. Don't go daft. Too much exercise can be detrimental to their development. You have to act as their conscience because as you say they dont know when to stop.

Sounds like some kind of ligament damage.

My German Shepherd pup did this when he was about 6 months and had a hell of a limp for a while. Vet gave us some anti-inflams and advised "rest"!

LOL, like a six month old GSP understands rest!

My springer has hurt her back leg. Had to keep her in and quiet on painkillers(impossible with that breed!) for the past two weeks. She seems ok now and will unleash her again tomorrow..........

My dog when he hurts himself, yelps a bit, sits there looking all sad, paw in the air. Give him a treat, throw the ball and he is off, all better now! I am sure he is pulling the wool over my eyes!

Ditto, iv'e got three of the b'stard's, and each day, one of them will sit there looking all sorry for themselve's or start limping, until hey presto, open the back door, pick up some food, or dog lead, or toy etc, etc, and all three are of like a shot. I'm sure they do it just to take the p*ss out of me . On a more serious note if they are still young don't exercise them to much as their muscle's don't fully develop until around 12-18 month's old, and over exercise when young can cause problem's when they get older.

he is nearly a year old, and yes went to the vets, muscle tear apparantly 105 quid, for a pain killing injection, and some anti inflametry tabs...and instructions not to take him out for at least 2 weeks...

And yes last night he was waiting by the door with his lead in his mouth looking at me with them "you treat me so badly" eyes!, needless to say I IGNORED HIM!!

his pocket money has stopped for a little while lol

1st rule of dogs and the vets.....DONT GO unless you think its serious. Dogs used to be wolves and they do ok in the wild!

if it happens again call me......for £80 i'll send you some frozen peas to stick on his leg!
