Fred's Back - Made in Britain
Back as promised for his swan song series Made in Britain.
"Documentary series in which Fred Dibnah travels around Britain in his restored traction engine in search of engineering skills and technology from a bygone age, a journey that will take him to ancient iron foundries, industrial sites and little workshops"
Not to be missed.

Brilliant! That exceeded my expectations. Can't wait to enjoy the next 12 episodes.
Incidentally, Fred is sooo politically incorrect that I’m sure New Labour types probably hate this sort of programme being broadcast. I mean, how dare people drive on the roads with such machines!!
I wonder how long it will take before steam driven vehicles are banished forever from our roads?
Nice one Fred!!!

One of the companies i do work for made the dished ends for his boiler and many other pieces for his steamer..I was lucky enough to meet him on numerous occasions..
He was a brilliant bloke in every aspect..SOMETIMES the "old school" way of doing it is much better..!!!

As is usual with all his programmes it is well made and it is going to be great to watch the rest of the series.
I have the same feelings as Regacy over the fact that he knew his days were numbered. he was a very special character alright.
I would go further Fatscoobyfella, the old ways of doing things are more often the best since they are tempered with so much experience, but they also improve with more modern knowledge and tools.

As a sign of respect I think we should keep the few faults that he had out of this thank you Pete!

Whether he has gone or not, he was a staunch Labour man and I have the highest respect for his stand ......... not many have stood firm over the last year or two .... most are crying and blubbing!!

Lewis can't bear to see other people getting respect and has to try to hijack the thread to bring attention to himself.
**** off and start your own thread lewis your presence is not required on this one.

I've just watched this prog (recorded it last night). What a top bloke.
I've always enjoyed his programs and his attitude to life was brilliant.
But in the words of Bruce Willis: "Fred's dead baby, Fred's dead". May he R.I.P.

I thought it was a fantastic programme, can't wait for the rest! I love his attitude on stuff, like standing next to a boiler that's leaking quite badly, sod that, I'd be bloody miles away!
I wish I could have met him

Clearly a man born after his time, he was a look back at Victorian England, when Britain was great!!!
I missed this series the first time round and was out of the country on Tuesday, but will make a point of watching the rest of the series...
I met him when I was 8 years old and had a go on his steam roller, he was a very kind and warm hearted man, who took time to explain things, and he had a passion for what he was talking about, and this made him cumpulsive to listen to.
RIP

Top Bloke, and I didnt know he had passed away.
Nought Wrong With Being Politically Incorrect, IMHO.
Always remember him knocking a chimney down, brick by brick, saying
"... it were 'ard in my day, it were ......" [on TV of course]
