I remember from my time in Stuttgart that there were quite a lot of Nord See takeaway shops. Nord See sell fast food specialising around fish. Very tasty alternative to the usual burgers, kebabs, etc.

Seems one kind of franchised takeaway we're missing in the UK. We obviously have fish & chip shops, but why no nationwide fish fast food outlet like Nord See?

We love our fish & chips in the UK, so cannot see how there is not a market for this franchise!

They are everywhere in Norway.

I think the stink of pickled herring as you pass may be a hinderance to a successful franchising opportunity.

There used to be one in Cambridge, but it closed after a couple of years. Personally I don't like them anyway - although I've only tried the German version.
