Gonna treat myself to a pool table soon, but there is a bewildering amount out there. Any names to look out for - slate base a must, etc etc.
Any help appreciated, up to £1k that can be brand new or a mint second hand one, dont mind.

We got a refurbished pub one for £500 a couple of years ago - not mint but they did have some really good looking ones for not much more (got it from a pub games specialist in Glasgow, can't remember the name).

The issue is space for it - you need a full 18ft by 15ft space to play it properly - we had it in a spare bedroom in the last house and some of the angles were frustrating - it's out in the pool house now which is terrific (girls in bikinis playing pool, mmmm) - but we have to keep a gazebo over it to stop the felt getting condensation on it.
