Just encrypt all BBC transmissions. People who want to watch / listen to BBC stuff have to buy a decoder and card (a bit like Sky odly enough ) and pay for the priveledge. That way those who want to watch the BBC pay for it rather than forcing everybody.

If you have kit, whatever form it takes, that can recieve TV signals then you need a license (in theory) even if it is not connected.

Considering how much money is saved by having a PC and shopping on the Internet, I think all PC's SHOULD be taxed!

And Laptops should have DOUBLE tax as they are portable!

Hello

They are taxed -- I seem to remember paying 17.5% VAT on both my computer and my Broadband connection...

Don't see why, when Labour makes everyone richer, they all moan and complain when they are asked for some back to improve the Social aspects of the country!!

Then again, Tories and their voters always have been the most selfish of all!!

What do you mean? What surprises me that they government was pushing to get a PC into every home? Or the fact that someone now wants to introduce an extra tax on PCs in the home?

I wish Labour made me richer...I have to do that by going to work. Maybe I should pack it all in and live on the social so that they can make me richer

Too right. No-one else is looking out for your own/best interests so someone has to. Charity begins at home

Lol - you're not the only one that didn't see it, but it doesn't surprise me. I'm waiting for the introduction of the air tax myself. I can see NL charging us to breath on the basis that now they have signed up to the Kioto agreement our air will be better quality and we have to pay for it

For the most part, most of us don't. Troll feeding is not a desperately productive pass time

It depends from where you look at it, the voters of this country vote FOR Labour and all they stand for .............

Just because Scoobynet has a 'few' Labour complainers doesn't make their view right!

Whats wrong with paying more Tax if we are all so much better off than we have EVER been?? I mean, the average wage is now about £40k .... thats quite an improvement in fortunes for LOADS of people!!

The thing with lewis is that he says the same boring old crap year after year but with ever greater exaggerations.

i.e. a while back he said the min wage was £30K, when everyone told him it was far less than this he replied with "what, i wouldnt get out my bed for less than than, how can anyone live on less than £30K, blah, blah boring crap"

So now he says it's £40K, and I bet he's sitting all sweaty palmed just waiting for someone to say the min wage is not £40K, just so he can say "what, i wouldnt get out my bed for less than than, blah, blah, senseless boring guff"

It's getting so predictable now I'm pretty sure lewis is a computer program, designed specifically to spout completely random sh1te

And you are routinely outwitted by a Computer Program?!! Ha Ha Ha what a wally you REALLY are!!

The average wage goes UP over the years, you moron! hence, the £35k 3 years ago is NOW £40k!

Just because you are not worth the average wage and are slipping ever further behind DOESN'T mean that others are spending their lives on a BBS - they are improving their lot!!
