Among Labour voters the Prime Minister received strong support. Seventy-eight per cent saw Tony Blair as likeable, 85 per cent caring, 56 per cent in touch, and 59 per cent, "trustworthy".

Matt

Most youngsters I speak to will not vote as they say they dont see the point.
Theyll still moan though when we get high taxes , high crime etc.

Just society today isnt it. Nobody seems to give a toss about anything or anyone these days.

Thumbs down low achievers

Those who claim there's 'no difference' or 'it doesn't matter who wins' are too stupid or lazy to find out the facts. Usually the former, with their text message grammer etc...

before I joined SN I was of the same opinion. Then you get reading peoples rants and raves and realise how ****e a country can get when a well marketed bunch of tosswipes get in power.

and more to the point, how much it costs you.

I have only voted once in my my life , and it wasn't labour.

I saw a post on one of the other boards saying they are proposing new laws to remove all vehicles over 15 yrs old from the roads, make it illegal for you to work on your own car (unless qualified to do so) etc... Madness.

They need to get old vehicles off the roads when they roll out ISA (Intelligent Speed Adaption) to control and charge road traffic. Make no mistake the Stalinist Police State is coming in New Labour's Third Term.

So, home mechanics, and DIY on your property will both be made illegal.

On a different subject there all also plans afoot to outlaw any form of off-road motorsport, just like they have hunting with dogs.

Do you have a link for this or something more concrete cos this is something I suugested might happen when SN was debating what might be banned next etc.
Even the anti foxhunting SNers might complain about that.

If you took the trouble to learn the facts behind the hype you would quickly realise that it's less important who gets voted in (Tory being the only party capable of this) then getting the New Labour nutcases out of office. If they are re-elected this country will be changed beyond recognition over the next four years.

The more people who can't be arsed to vote the easier it makes it for them. They will encourage an air of hopelessness.

Best you start thinking then. Unless you want everything you do, say and think to be controlled by others.

yea i see what u mean, my point is that in order to care/want to care, its gonna require someone to go on and on about it so young ppl take note, i mean its not something that theyre gonna go find out about on their own accord is it

It's a problem that so many younger people feel divorced from the political process. Not sure what the answer to that one is.

Anyway - here is a link to the proposals regarding DEFRA's plans for 'motoring in the countryside.' Scarey stuff what's going on behind the scenes.
