Default Awaiting the Plumber

Just waiting for a Gas pumber to come and fit a new Diverter valve into my Combi boiler.
Does anybody have any idea what kind of price i should be looking to pay for this job....dont want to get ripped off.

Valve could be in region of £80 depending on type and manufacturer.
1 hours labour.

Oh dear, guv. (sucks in air through teeth). Didn't know it was one of them old type combis. Tssh. Tssh. (more air sucked in through teeth). Gonna take a while sorting that lot out. Oh 3 sugars by the way.....

Lewegie wins with £85 + VAT for the valve and 1 hours labour at a stonking £73 an hour....robbing bas*ard!! Why arent i on £73 an hour??

Well if you can't even fit a valve, why would anyone want to pay you that much?

He wasnt even here for an hour, the paper work he issued me with afterwards stated £65 + VAT for the first hour or any part there of!!!

Probably too late to say this - sorry .....

was it a motorised diverter valve?

Whats was foobarred, the valve or the motor?...whole valve =£80...a new motor for the valve = £20 (in parts - no labour)

The motor takes 5 mins to swap, the valve about 30mins depending on draining and filling.
