Flight compensation
Bad idea IMHO, the last thing the airlines want is to pay heavy fines for delays, something will have to give, probably maintenance

Or they'll work out how many flights are affected on average per year and how much that would cost them per year in compensation then put the flight prices up accordingly to cover it.
The budget airlines have a good point in that it's not based on a % of the cost,so they are affected more than the premium airlines.
