Whats the difference between perfume and eau de toilette???
Obviously theres a price difference with the prefume the more expensive. Is it just a case that the perfume is the purest (strongest) and the eau de toilette is a weaker mix???

What's The Difference?
Many people are confused by the variety of types of perfume available. Here’s a quick guide to what all those different terms actually mean. A perfume is always mixed with alcohol. Adding alcohol to pure perfume lightens the effect and changes the form of a fragrance.
Eau de Toilette
This contains 4 to 6 per cent of the fragrance oil in 80 per cent alcohol. It is most commonly used in aerosols or atomizers which allow better distribution of the fragrance and enables the scent to develop more quickly.
Perfume
A true perfume is a fragrance that contains between 15 and 40 per cent of the essential oils in 90 to 96 per cent alcohol.
Eau de Cologne
This contains between 3 to 5 per cent of the perfume oil in 70 per cent alcohol and usually has fresh citrus top notes.
Eau de Parfum
This is a dilute form of the true perfume, containing between 10 and 20 per cent of the fragrance oil and a higher percentage of alcohol.
Eau de Fraiche
With only up to 3 per cent of the oil in 70 to 80 per cent alcohol eau fraiche often has additional citrus fruit essences.

My wife has been unable to find Charles of the Ritz Perfume it came in a silver packaging in the UK.
It was a big favourite in the 80’s, don’t ask her age
Anybody remember it, of has any information.

Thanks for the pointer, looks like she and many others are out of luck, as Revlon don’t make it anymore

To Quote from the forum: 'Charles of the Ritz Original' perfume was packaged in the Burgundy aerosol can or in a frosted 3.8oz glass bottle with 'Charles of the Ritz Original' and a big leaf on the front center. Certain ads or perfume reviews will state that the 'Charles of the Ritz' has a classic scent but it is not the same as 'Ritz Classic'. It is still easy to purchase at online perfume stores. 'Ritz Classic', 'Ritz' or 'Charles of the Ritz Classic' was packaged in a silver aerosol can with Burgundy lettering or in a frosted 3.8oz glass bottle with 'Ritz Classic' printed in the center and four leaves in each corner. It is impossible to purchase now except occasionally on eBay every once in a while.
Least now she knows.
Thanks Ajax, Paul

Well, she did buy me £300 worth of air compressor and air-brush for my birthday so I guess I have to push the boat out a bit for hers. And dont worry, she has also asked for the spare room to be decorated and turned into a study for her birthday also so havent really got away with a 50 squidds bottle of smelly to keep her happy
